The largest rooftop venue in the Christchurch CBD, available for exclusive hire. Our team has been running functions, events and parties on this site for over a decade, and we think we're pretty good at it by now.
We're innovative, original and unpretentious, a blank canvas with both indoor and outdoor function spaces ready to be shaped into whatever you're planning. From birthdays and engagements to corporate events and live gigs, come up to the rooftop and make it your own.

Milestone birthdays, engagements and big celebrations call for a space that's all yours. Royals gives you exclusive use of the indoor venue, rooftop and both bars, with food, drinks and the layout built around your group.
Corporate Events
From meetings and conferences to Christmas parties and end of year lunches, Royals adapts to the day. Flexible layouts, AV and catering mean the room can run straight from a presentation into drinks without missing a beat.
Live Music
Gigs, club nights, comedy and ticketed shows all find a home at Royals. A full stage, house PA and lighting, with standing capacity for around 350, give promoters the setup to bring any show to life.
How We Work
Royals comes with everything that's hard to sort last minute, bars, sound, lighting, AV and a rooftop that's ready to go. Our team runs events here every week, so the practical side is taken care of before you even walk through the door.
From there, it's your event. Whether it’s champagne on arrival or bourbon and coke, a DJ and dance floor or a room full of chairs facing a screen.

We're on the first floor at 178 St Asaph Street, right in the heart of Christchurch's CBD.

Street parking and public car parks are available around St Asaph Street and the central city. We'd recommend checking current parking spots, hours and charges before you head in.

No hire fee, Royals runs on a minimum spend instead, which we'll confirm with you before you book.

We're licensed to operate from 11am to 3am, seven days a week, with events scheduled within these hours.

Unfortunately Royals does not currently have wheelchair access.
